Student Finance: Parents' contributions

Making late financial support application for DS, first year. Needed to make the loan a priority. Now that's through, applying for any 'grant' he may get. The form appears to ask questions of one parent eg NI number, 2009-10 taxable income etc. No mention of any other possible earner. Does that mean that two parents working fill in two forms and that, therefore, both have to be registered with Student Finance?

Have searched high and low on the website and in the notes before posting this. Can find nothing to help but it surely stands to reason that all household income is assessed.

Many thanks!

Yes, if both parents live together they are both assessed, and should have been named on the Students application form. DH & I both had to complete separate forms and send evidence of income etc (That they promptly lost!)

DD's friend lives with her Mum only, a non-earner, so she got max loans etc even though her Father is loaded and also sends her money - but that's another thread.

This leaflet is quite good.
