Am I out of my mind???

I have two children under three and work 16 hours a week. My husband works full time and is generally good at helping out with household stuff when he can, but I still do the majority of housework/laundry.

I am really keen on continuing my education, namely my masters degree. It will have to be online and I am currently thinking the Open University will fit the bill.

Am I nuts/delutional? Can I make it work? Has anyone here made it work and if so, can you help me with any tips/advice on keeping life in balance whilst I pursue this?

I'm studying a masters with the OU and while work/study/family is possible your DCs are still quite little (mine are much much older).

The problem is meeting essay deadlines and being ready for exams - you can guarantee that will be the week that you are ill, a child is ill or some other thing that makes all your plans fall apart happens! At least with the OU the timing of assessed elements is released at the start of the course and I usually try and run at least a week ahead of the programme for the above reasons.

I think you can make anything work if you want to but even part time study at masters level can be demanding. I need to put the hours in or I just don't understand the material.

I am doing an ma with the ou. I have 2 preschoolers and am pregnant, and work about 8 hours a week from home. It's do-able if it's what you really want!
