bullies following me to uni

I left a job where I was continuously bullied and kept on a low wage despite being given (and coping with) a lot of responsibility in a pre-school, I worked there for nearly two years. I got fed up of being ground to dust by jealous and malicious managers and deputy managers so I left to go to college and hopefully go to Uni to train to become a primary school teacher next September...
Have since found out that one of these said bullies is now at the only uni I wanted to go to I am gutted because even the thought of bumping into her makes me feel sick.. ahh "get out of my dream horrible lady"

Sorry this has happened to you. Unis are usually pretty big institutions so bumping into her is unlikely, unless you're in the same class. And, as she's already there, you won't be in the same class, so it's really quite unlikely.

Don't let the bitch spoil your dreams!

PureBloodMuggle · 01/11/2011 20:07

iif she's on her own, she'll mos likely not have the balls

don't let her effect you, make new friends, forge a life for yourself, tell them about the bullies, and excel in your new feild

Maybe you ought to stand up on your own two feet at some point in your life. This perhaps may be the time. If she tries to 'bully' you again at uni which I rather doubt she would, just confront her squarely preferably in front of a crowd and tell her exactly where to go. I bet my mortgage she would well leave you alone for the rest of your life.

Thanks so much each of you its good to see it from another angle, if Ive got the courage I will confront but she is the kind of person that will be all"alright baaabe how are you doing blah blah" and not acknowledge what went on, I would be inclined more to ignore he completely blank her throughout I just didnt want any un-peacefulness dragged into my future but thanks everyone Ill hold my head high and get a bloody good degree Smile

NTBGA - love your name - have great sympathy for you but feel I should warn you ( having worked in a preschool which must have been the same one as you ,judging by your user name ,and a primary school ) that these were the cliquiest ,most inward looking ,horrible institutions I have ever come across .
As work places they just seem to lend themselves to bullying staff . The head has so much power and can really set staff against eachother and make life a misery for staff who they want to get rid of - usually because they are experienced ,expensive ,and make the head feel insecure .
I'm sure my experience has been extreme ,but I was shocked that such bullying work place practices still existed .

Thanks for the warning gingeroots
I am aware about primary schools being inward and horrible institutions (with exception to a very supportive and good atmosphere special needs school I worked in once) I have seen what you've said to be true.

I have a long term goal to train in mainstream schools (so I will never be out of work)
Then once I have a years experience I am going to jump ship to train as a 'Steiner' teacher and furthermore home educating my future children (I know ambition looks pretentious and I daren't tell people my grand plans ;) ) but its whats kept me going through some very under stimulating low pay jobs surrounded by 'jobs- worths' who say things like "uhh nottheblinking you're only meant to give the children one spoon full of raisins for morning snack not two"
Its for this reason I'm determined to accomplish these goals.
Thanks for the warning though, I often warn girls with gentle natures against working in nurseries.
