My son is about to start A levels maths, physics, chemistry and product design. He would like to have a look around some companies in the summer to get a feel of what he wants to do. With his product design course he would like to gear his work towards a company product so it will hopefully help him get an apprentiship when he finishes. We are in Suffolk nr ipswich so it would be good if he could also do some work experience to also help with his future. He also loves Physics so any ideas would be really welcome.

Hi, try the local branch of the Institute of Chemical engineers. I've just used this for my DS and its been helpful. They sent me a long list of companies in my area. You then have to spoend time ringing round of course and DS will need to prepare an e-mail and cv to send off. My DS is also doing ASs - sciences and maths. Good luck.

Have you seen this website?

If he is planning to do A Levels why does he want to do an apprenticeship - which will involve starting at GCSE level and working up to A Level equivalent - really a waste of time if he already has A Levels. Why not go to do a degree/foundation degree etc?
