Study at home courses with financial support

I owe the OU £800, which I am paying back gradually, due to a youthful error. (I didn't fill out the financial support form in time) I am not allowed to register to do any other courses till that is paid off.

Is there anywhere else that offers discounts for poor people? I want to work from home, and a qualification would be good at the end. My interests are literature, social sciences and education, although I am open to anything really. I just want to keep my mind active and give myself a challenge.

vision2learn do some free courses but these are a bit limited.

will the OU allow you to do their free online courses to keep you busy? They are free to anyone so can't see why not.
They don't get you any credit points as far as I know though.

Does your local area (maybe check council website) do evening classes (I know it's not quite from home) which give discount to poor people. Where I am they tend to do qualifications (eg GCSE/city and guilds etc) free if you are on benfits or things of interest with about 20% off the fuul price.
