High chair that 2 year can get into themselves (post c-section)

Hi,

Slightly worried. I'm down to have a c-section in 6 weeks (due to health complications) and just trying to navigate the post c-section world where I won't be able to list my gorgeous (but super heavy 15 kg) 23 month old toddler into a high chair.

Issue is space - we're in a small flat and don't have any space (so our son having his own toddler table and chair is realistically not feasible). We need a high chair which allows you to attach a tray as well (when our toddler has climbed into the high chair) as we don't have a dining room table or anything else the chair could be used at (space).

So wanted to use a high chair in our galley kitchen - we currently have the Ikea Antilop high chair. Great - but concerned of getting my son in and out of that post c-section.

So looking for a high hair - that a toddler can climb into - and that you can then attach a tray to once they are in it. Considered the Stokke tripp trapp and Stokke steps highchairs - but with both these options the highchair tray attached to the babyset (and we can't use the babyset because they would prevent our son being able to climb into the high chair in the first place).

Are there any other options out there that people could possibly recommend that would navigate this issue?

Thanks so much in advance.

Hauck do a Tripp trapp clone but we just pushed it up to the table instead of having a tray

Could you look at an option of a
Chair on the floor? Something like the chicco snack pocket? After a few weeks you will be able to use your regular chair

Thanks Randomsabreuse. I did look at the Hauck (a good looking knock-off) - but that seems to have a safety bar (so our toddler wouldn't be able to get into it himself) plus we don't have a table to push this against.

Thanks Luckyduck88 - maybe we'll have to do something on the floor like that. I can't imagine my son staying in that snack pocket - as he's quite large and boisterous - but maybe as a temporary measure it could work (he does love his food).

We had something similar to the snack pocket (weirdest name ever for a booster seat) we had this Fisher Price one

We still use it now for when my nephew visits. We also took it with us to other people's houses to put on dining chairs.

The bottom is height adjustable meaning it fits a lot of tables. You could put this on the floor but against a wall so he can't tip it. It is also very easy to clean due to the bucket seat.

Stokke Tripp trap with no tray. This is what we used for dd when she was 2 and I had a broken leg! She's 13 now and its still her chair Grin

Sorry just seen you don't have a table so it wouldn't work

The floor is probably best option!

Or a tiny kids chair and table?

I have two of the hauck chairs. They are great, but wouldn't work without a table. I had a c section when my dd was 3, I can't even remember what I did! I think I must have used the hauck.

Joie mimsy high chair. My 18 month old climbs into it herself and I then attach the tray. It's really compact too and has a one handed fold. I really rate it.
