Breakfast bar height highchairs

Flummery100 · 14/10/2013 20:52

I have a five month old and getting to the point where we need a highchair. Thing is, we're a little bit limited in choice because it has to be able to get to breakfast bar height as that is where we eat. All these ones will do that, so was wondering if anyone had experience with any of them?

Cosatto Trof
Mamas and Papas Loop
Bloom Fresco Loft

Be grateful for any views. Thanks!

We had the bloom. It was brilliant as we have a breakfast bar & a normal dining room table. Be aware it is quite heavy & the base is massive. Fine if you've got space. Very versatile chair & v stylish. I'd recommend to someone with space who is strong.

We had the M&P Loop. It was crap, and went to the tip last week. I sobbed as it cost so much! The hydraulic lift bust after a couple of years and M&P were not interested in repairing or replacing it.highchair to last several children, barley lasted one. The investment for a I live close to their HO and was dealing with them direct, not a sales assistant in a store. Awful customer service. It's also a bugger to clean. And who puts a cloth insert in a highchair? M&P that is who, so you have to buy more than one for washing. At £50 a pop. Stay well clear of the Loop, and pretty much anything with an M&P label, all form over function.

we had the chicco which clamps onto the breakfast bar. it does have a fabric cushion, so is a pain to clean and lots of nooks and crannies for food to get into. I just got inventive with some gaffer tape, plastic sheeting and coverall bibs. still going strong with 2nd dc even though we no longer have breakfast bar. added bonus of no enormous legs to trip over!

Thanks for your replies. So, only the Bloom is recommended...hmm, think will have to go and have a look to see how heavy/wide the base is. Does look nice but I wondered if it might be style over substance?

Ps thanks for info about the Chicco but we'd prefer to get a free standing chair rather than one that bolts on, but I do see how no legs could be beneficial!

I have a Bloom fresco loft (the higher one) and its been fantastic. Excellent quality and v durable. Only downside is very heavy. We used on highest setting at breakfast bar with trays and later stages removed trays and pushed it up to dining table. Didnt realise when purchased can also be used as crib with the Cocoon inside so am looking forward to using that with dc2. Happy shopping....bought mine a few years ago off Internet site prices varied dramatically! X

Yo Suchi have the Bloom in their restaurants if you want to go and try it out.

SweetSkull · 15/10/2013 23:09

Have you heard of the portable foldable ones from Phill&Teds?

Flummery100 · 16/10/2013 17:43

No, I'm not aware of the Phil and Teds - do you know the model name?

And would definitely go and see a Bloom before purchasing, especially as so expensive!

meetoo

Lobster

You can find them on eBay too, and lots of different prices on different retailers on the internet.

Ah thanks but we are looking for free standing high chairs rather than the clip on ones. Cheers anyway though.
