my 20 month old granddaughter is an absolute star at being good for nonny and v v naughty for Mummy. So natural but how do i manage this without a) laughing at the ability of a baby to manipulate and b) offending my daughter.....ps is it okay for grannys to post?

LOL, that's just normal isn't it? But is that you think your daughter is doing something wrong and that if she changed her approach that her dd would behave better? Difficult one. In that case I would probably put it like
"I find that if I say X, then dgd does Y" rather than the more offensive "You should do X. That's what we did in my day"
Of course grannys can post, there are plenty of grannys on MN!

Laugh at the baby - but don't let anyone see you (especially her! ). And maybe point out to your daughter that they always behave worst with the people they love most, at that age.

thanks for your good advice, I must admit that when my DD's DD throws a wobbly and waits for a reaction laughing is soooo tempting - I will hide my face now.

Am I the only one that thinks been there done that, don't reinvent the wheel? after all our DDs turned out okay
