How to teach my mum to engage with DD

DD is only 2 months but is generally a happy smily baby. She was very colicky at first and it scared my mum and now she just wants to rock her saying sssh ssshh when she cries. She says my siblings and I were 'good' babies, ie she could put us down and we would be quite happy. I say she loves singing and is starting to like playing, but mum is obsessed with her either being hungry or tired, won't take her unless there's a dummy to hand. Trying to be diplomatic especially when mil seems to get all the 'big smiles'.

I wouldn't worry- it will change as when the baby can sit up and take notice.some people are not good with small babies but fine when they become 'people'.

Small babies can be very scary if they are not your own!

Grandparents that I know say that it is quite different from being the parent.
