hello, have posted elsewhere but I thought this'd be a good place to ask.

DD just turned 3 and is desperate to learn more letters and their sounds - she knows /s/, /a/, /h/ sounds and recognises some other letters (as in letter names).

I figured on this board there'll be early readers so there may be some good ideas for how to do it in a fun, low key way. she's quite a physical learner.

TIA

What about one of those alphabet friezes that you put on the wall with a picture for each letter and the word written as well. A is for apple etc..

Or if you could find a jig-saw with removable letters so much the better for a physical learner.

ooh yes I've seen the Jolly Phonics poster on Amazon. might be good she has a wooden jigsaw with letters.

anyone done much Jolly Phonics stuff with preschoolers? I've found the letter workbooks really cheap but I've no idea if they're too advanced.

I taught DS2 to read with Jolly Phonics when he was just over 3, because he said he wanted to learn. I bought the manual online and just spent a few minutes a day teaching him. I was really just hoping to get him to know his sounds but in fact he picked up blending and was reading pretty well by the time he started Reception at just turned 4.
