over my pretty little head obviously but they were doing pythagorean triples( whatever they are) and ds1 came up with some formula about primitive Pythagorean triples and a way of ensuring the hypoteneuse and adjacent side are consecutive.
the teacher could not disprove it and recommended ds1 write to Cambridge professor to ask them to review it.
holy shit!
he is 14 yr9 and I'm damn proud! If a little ignorant
one of the best letters home EVER
teacher genuinely excited!

thanks pourmeabgone

Ds is currently holed up in bed with his very poorly sinusitis self.

DS has investigated careers involving maths (and given he will also have Mandarin Chinese GCSE) this might well give him a few very lucrative options. Esp if he continues the Mandarin after leaving school.

Then I can retire and he can repay my dedication

PMSL @ hunni monster's input

Well done indeed PiffleBoy

I myself was rather fond of pi at school. Can't say it really had a profround effect at the time but I now have thunder thighs and I think that's why. (Meat and bean btw..)
