Hi, does UK have a version of National association of gifted and talented like they have in USA?

Does NAGF accept overseas kids?

My 7 year old knows the entire period table. She is hungry for knowledge and is always reading books about physics/ space/ quantum mechanics and what not. She knows all the trees in the park. She is teaching herself German. She has a brilliant memory and doesn't forget once she reads something.

She goes to a neighbourhood state school which said no to moving her up in class and we want to find ways to keep her engaged and motivated. Thanks

It used to be NAGTY then IGGY but I've no idea what current provision there is for gifted and talented.

Have a look at your local university or Warwick Uni (where NAGTY was based) to see if they do anything as part of their widening participation teams.

I stopped working for NAGTY in the 00s so my info is now massively out of date.

I believe the National Association for Gifted Children changed its name to Potential Plus in 2013.

I think there is a private group called potential plus - they have a website. Also, maybe look at things like royal institution Christmas lectures, local science festivals/lectures, IET London open day, national schools observatory (online).
