My dd (just turned 3) is obsessed with numbers at the minute. I want to support her learning but don't want to get her into rote learning or workbooks or anything. Which resources can help with counting, numbers, and sums that are also fun/playing?
She can count objects up to about 20 and lines things up specifically so she can count how many there are. She can do basic sums like adding or subtracting 1 to other numbers. She is also really into the way numbers can be split like 6 is 1x6 and also 2x3 (I think this is thanks to watching numberblocks).
We have some wooden number blocks toys already (sumblox).
Anything else that would be fun for her? She's really into books and stickers and colouring and other toddler stuff.

Some Orchard Toys games like "Catch and Count" and "Count the Ladybirds" are good starter games.

Does she have a colour-by-numbers colouring book?

@MarthaMayWhovier those games sound good thank you!
we have one colour by numbers book but she gets really annoyed when her pencil doesn't exactly match the colour shown 🙄

Definitely look at the orchard toys they have lots of great maths themed games.

Id also recommend a set of childrens scales DS is nearly 3 and loves using his trying to get them to balance and seeing how lots of light things are not as heavy as 1 big thing.

An oldie but a goodie. Mine liked to play with an abacus. Also daddy’s calculator (daddy is an accountant and it was their favourite toy apparently).

Mine loved "Shut the Box" board game at this age & we found that some of the age appropriate Nintendo DS games were good for challenging her maths etc too

We have the Numberblocks box with Mathlink cubes. And they're cool. Kind of like legos.

Shape manipulation and other maths outside of calculation. Puzzles, jigsaws, tangrams, those things where you make a shape out of shapes. Books about days of the week, time etc. All maths.

We liked cbeebies/numberblocks magazine.

Till is good. Also measuring for cooking. Using a tape measure and measuring everything and everyone.

Numberblocks really is a good programme!
