Okay folks - I am aware that I may be opening a can of worms here but why does this topic piss so many people off?

I mean if someone has deemed a child G+T (or is it G or T) why is it that they seem to be flamed when they post about any difficulties here?

If the label has come from outside the family and the family struggle why can't they post here saying "Help" without people leaping in to say "your child sounds normal to me"

For what it's worth I don't have a child labelled as G+T but am glad I don't given the response some posters get to this topic.

Surely it's okay for some children to be extra bright. Or is it that there is distrust of this label?

Just interested really.

Am I reading right - someone is on here checking other peoples posts and judging - no attacking them as parents purely by what they post on here?

That is by far the most spiteful, disturbed thing I've seen on here.

You must be doing something well KM, if it inspires such envy!

lojomojo · 15/09/2007 22:58

I'm not envious, I'm worried for km ds2

well you seem to me to devote so much time and attention to your ds1 and I qualify that by what you post on here, and seem to ME, to do nowt but moan about your ds2. I don't live in your house I know but that is how you come across to ME on here.

Mhamai · 15/09/2007 23:06

God, sorry was away to bed but seriously your posts begger belief lojo. Are you the Mother Teresa of MN. How fucking dare you judge another MN'r. "I'm worried for km's ds2" Would you like e to follow you around the boards and pick your posts apart. Get off your pissing soapbox. Frankly I' worried about you!

tortoiseSHELL · 15/09/2007 23:07

KM - re your post about 'you practising restraint' - that wasn't exactly what I meant, what I meant (but obviously wasn't very good at explaining) was that it is really good to teach the CHILDREN to practise restraint, and to learn to say no to things.

You sound like you do loads with your kids, and they sound like they're doing really well.

Monkeytrousers · 15/09/2007 23:08

worried? You need to worry about yourself.

Is this the same person who got a bee in their bonnet about another poster; kept trying to push it to be referred to social services? Can't remember the name but it seems the same kind of paranoid overreaction.

Monkeytrousers · 15/09/2007 23:10

just ignore her KM - obvioulsy off her chump - pity the poor troll

Mhamai · 15/09/2007 23:10

Hmmm lojo according to your profile you mentor this and are on the comittee of that. Assumptions and ill informed judgments, not very nice are they?

Monkey, meant to say sorry for not getting around to doing the survey, loads came up and just didn't get a chance.

TnOgu · 15/09/2007 23:13

Kerry, you shouldn't have to post that.

This a 'support' site, for God's sake.

lojomojo · 15/09/2007 23:13

I never said I was perfect, but I did say that I like to spend equal time with my kids on their hobbies and homework, I would like to think that would go for everyone.
My kids have the same age gap as yours, I just think it's important to give each child individual attention as well as joint attention.

I apologise Km as I have offended you.

Oviuosly you should spend more time away from both your children to post here when things are fine.

It's the nature of the beast lojo, that people post when they need support, not when they don't. Get a life.

Kerry - my 10 year old dd and her friend were bitten by a 6 year old yesterday, I thought of you! (I wish gifted and talented had a different name, I think it is the name upsets some people). Enjoy the match, I'm from Antrim really!

Monkeytrousers · 15/09/2007 23:15

Hi KM.

No probs Mharmi - gonna be doing another one soon, not so intimate though, if you are up for it?

Mhamai · 15/09/2007 23:16

No problem Monkey.

lojomojo · 15/09/2007 23:16
