18 month old can count

My 18 month old can count to 5. I thought it was just repetition at first but she brings me things and counts them into my hand. She also counts the stairs when we go up to bed. She's my first so I have no idea if this is expected at this age. Is my kid super cool or am I just having a proud mummy moment :-)

My ds could count to over 100 at 18 months and shortly after 2 knew the whole alphabet. He struggled with everyday things. He was diagnosed with autism this year age 6, he is still really ahead in maths

My eldest could count to 20 well before she was 2 - counted everything, especially stairs. She excelled at maths all through primary school and did A level maths and further maths and is now studying maths- related subject at uni. So yes your DC is advanced and may well continue to excel.
Just make sure you use positive language about being good at maths- so many people (especially women), even in education, think it is ok to say they are rubbish at maths, but nobody would ever say they are rubbish at reading! (Climbing off hobby horse now)

Reading these threads makes me think that my ds is actually very different. He was counting backwards from 1000 or what ever( I only heard him going 976, 975, 974... or what ever.)
He was hyperlexic, has traits of asd, and still great at maths aged 9.

My dd was like this and is now 6 and doing amazing in school, she has just learnt her 12 times table and has flew through 5 reading levels this year.

I am unsure yet where she may or may not lie on the gifted spectrum, she is very bright and constantly wants to learn.
She has perfected joined up writing and is now working on her stories. She writes pages and pages with punctuation etc.

Year 2 will be telling, she wasn't pushed at all in reception and held back. Year one has brought something out in her.

I think you have a clever little toddler, I think the single most important thing to do with children is read to them. Good luck
