Help!!

How do you find your gifted children's behaviour and how do you manage it?

My son is six and majority of the time he is fine, low level manageable behaviour. But when he blows it's like world war three and he just gets so cross and frustrated - just looking for advice on how to handle it? xx

My DS9 is academically gifted and can be a nightmare at home. He is, thankfully, an angel in school. I don't think his behaviour is anything to do with him being gifted, just that he can be a little shit at times!

Sounds like my 7 y son who was tested G&T - 80% time he is a good kid, but when he's upset, it's full blown up. Doctor told me G&T boys tend to be less emotionally matured. In fact, emotional problems are the reason why I took him to doctor and that's why he was tested.
We tried sensory therapy and it seems have helped a little. There are still a lot to work on. Exercise and activities helped, too.
No I am not using "brightness" as an excuse for their behaviours. However in some way they are special needs kids. They can be difficult for parents.
