DD is 6 and loves maths. She is in year 1 but goes to year 2 for maths. Any suggestions for any good ipad apps to keep her entertained at home please?

IXL is good & curriculum linked too - though it's not a teaching tool, just sort of worksheets done in a way kids like - they collect "prizes" on a grid - you also get an update of their progress, so you can see what areas if any they need help with - its cheap too

Dragonbox 5+ - it's a game, but also uses mathematical logic. DD loved it.

Also, all of the Squeebles games are good for practicing number bonds and times tables - she might also like the fractions one too,

If its any use, DS2 loved monopoly and chess when he was about that age. The monopoly is good for the adding and subtracting practice.

There was a wii monopoly game five years ago that he used to play by himself, so there must be an app now??

sumdog, it's a website rather than an app. Ds loves it.

bedtime maths is a free app with different levels of problems and quite a wordy description so is stimulating on a number of fronts

Bit random but my Y1 DS likes the games where you hatch out dragons, build them habitats, cross them to make new breeds etc. It's not obviously mathematical but he's constantly saving up food to build a particular dragon up to level 10, or saving for the next habitat, or trading off coins and gems. It's also open ended rather than task driven, which is good forhim I think. He likes to get to 3 million food, work out what are the best crops to grow, all sorts.

He also loves monopoly and before that, chess.
