DS2 5yo started reception in September. He is a very bright little boy and a couple of weeks into term he teacher pulled me aside to say that she did realise how able he is and apologised for sending him home with phonics. I said that it is lovely that she has noticed he is bright but in his head he is a little boy like all the others and at the moment he just loves school and everything that goes with it. He loves phonics even though he does find it very easy.
Since then his homework (once a week) has become a lot more complicated and this is why I am here.
This weeks task is "can you write sentences with these words in them; in, and, on, the, is?" Last week he had to draw a picture and label the different parts (It was a house and he was supposed to label what the roof, walls and doors were made of). Is this fairly standard homework for reception age? I was initially a bit
that they got homework at all. Its not that I don't think he can do it its more that I know that at that age there is no way I could have done it.
