what are number bonds?

just that really is it addition and subtraction ie, 1 and 2 equals 3, 6 and 2 equals 8, if so can someone please explicitly list for me the number bonds expected in KS1

The teacher did say what number bonds are but I didnt grasp what she said to be honest. I was happy dd is doing well she is well above in both literacy and numeracy but needs to work at being faster in number bonds.

I didnt ask where she was in NC as I dont realy need to know she is y1 and im guessing en3, ma2 but just want to ensure she is socialy ok and happy and settled, then will find out academicaly more indepth in spring.

Number bonds are the numbers that you add together to make another number; ie, the number bonds for 10 would be: 1+9, 2+8, 3+7, 4+6, 5+5, 6+4 etc.

they should know number bonds to 10 and 20 backwards and forwards so they should know 3+7 is the same as 7+3

we play quick fire maths in the car as it's also go practise for minute maths in key stage 2

I some times feel that as dd is very bright I should just automaticaly know these things and I sadly dont. and some times dont like to ask.

level 3 in literacy involves correct use of punctuation, capital letters and full stops. Interesting writing, use of conectives, dialogue etc

this is pretty impressive for year 1
