What would you consider a child gifted at writing to be able to write at this stage of year 2?

Just remembered another one, vaguely poetic, from DD (then aged four):

"As i look at this ortoom leef i can see it is yelw and as brit as the sun shin" - written with all the S's back to front and with the lines wobbling about all over the page!

waffle, that is fantastic for four.

Thanks evil - I am proud and would cheerfully wear his achievements on a list around my neck. Not sure that would do too much for either his popularity or mine though:) Will just have to stick to the odd proud mother moment in cyber space. Thanks to all of you for indulging me with that!

Thanks susan, and I loved reading everyone else's too. Like Goosey, I have to have my proud moments in cyberspace (or on the phone to my mum!) so thanks for reading. She is very nearly six now (in Year 1) and has to write a planned story for her teacher tomorrow, so will let you know how she gets on!

forgot to add - with both of the pieces she wrote in Reception, her teacher just said, "oh that's nice" and moved on. But she did put the autumn leaf one on the wall!
