my daughter is 2 and 1/2 and I didnt breastfeed, I went on Citalopram about September last year but over the past month I have had lactation from my left breast. Its only when I squeeze and it's a white , milky substance.
I was diagnosed as having an underactive thyroid gland after the birth of my daughter and am on medication for this.

I have recently had a blood test as I felt lethargic and sluggish (around the same time as I started lactating).

Blood test came back fine, was tested for diabetes, iron levels and thyroid levels.

I've googled and lactation is not a common side effect of Citalopram.

Why now, why am I lactating??

I should mention that pregnancy is out of the question

Help please

Definitely go to the GP and ask about it.

go to the gp...you need to have your hormone levels checked...

(i had this and had an ovarian cyst that righted itself)

Go & see your GP. One of my femail relatives suffers from prolactinoma which took ages (15+ years) to be diagnosed & this is one of the symptoms.

I'm probably way off mark but it's more common that is realised, and often misdiagnosed due to lack of GP awareness.

Good luck!

Go to GP, one of my freind had that and it was an adenoma, linked with the tyroid. It does need checking out, and treatment. Not life threatening but if untreated can impair any further pregnancy.

Again I would go see the GP. My sister in law had this for years and it was only when she was Embarrassing Bodies that she went to get it checked out. It was an issue with her pituitary gland.
