Anxiety?

cocolepew · 07/07/2010 10:42

No don't think so, I pretty chilled, thanks to anti depressants

I was wondering anemia.

OP posts:
indigobarbie · 07/07/2010 10:46

thyroid?

indigobarbie · 07/07/2010 10:48

thyroid? this may fit with the numbness or it could be a vitamin deficiency, the ache under your armpit may be a swollen gland and can happen when you feel run down. Really, your should get to the Docs Sounds like how I felt when I was pg.

DBennett · 07/07/2010 11:32

Anemia is a possibilty.
So is low (or variable) blood presure.

And the rest is going to seem intrusve so just ignore me if you want.

Talk to me about the dizzyness.

How long do they last, how often and when did you first notice it?
Do you feel what you can see is moving?
Do you feel that you are unsteady?
Do you get any changes to your vision when it happens, greying, dimming or fading for example?

In addition, could you describe your headaches:

How long have they been occuring?
Is there a time of day or activity they seem to happen during?
How long do they last?
Where in the head do they hurt?
Describe the pain (shooting, ache, throb, tightness)?
Do you feel sick with the headache?
Is it worse on routine exertion (walking up stairs for example)?
Do you get trouble with bright lights, loud noises when you have the headache?
What do you feel like doing when you have the headache (lethargic, angitated, can carry on with day)?
What do you do to make it go away?

Oh and what age/gender are you?

cocolepew · 07/07/2010 12:16

I'm def not preg

I'm a laydee, I'm 21 41, just basic headaches nothing too severe, general feeling of dizzyness/lightheaded, all over head, no changes in vision, no sickness can carry on ok. It's the tingling which irritates me the most, everything seems worst when i'm in bed. I think I did have a swollen gland under my arm last week.

Under or over active thyroid? I've had both and it doesn't relly seem like either TBH.

Thanks for your replies

A virus? I'd go to the GP for a check up but I had this horrible 'tingling' virus earlier in the year which turned out to be just that. Was gone in 2/3 weeks but no fun at the time. Self-diagnosed with MS, tumours, etc before then of course!

cocolepew · 07/07/2010 12:23

Everyone has a cold atm in my house but not me, I did think virus, I work with children and catch everything going. I sort of felt I had something that hadn't really 'came out' IYSWIM. Tingling virus describes it nicely.

I don't know what it is - but I have the same thing (apart from the headaches)! I have had some tests done, not aneamic, not thyroid. Waiting for some more tests results. The ( very expensive, luckily paid for by health insurance) consultant, said tests often came back negative and it was just one of those things - great. Will watch thread with interest.

cocolepew · 07/07/2010 12:31

I usually go to an alternative therapist ( I know, I know) but she is very good and can pick up on things pretty good, I need an appointment for my back (she's also an oestopath) so I'll phone today.

When my blood pressure is low I have all these except the armpit and joints. I particularly have the tingling, especially if I am lying on my side, the arm on top (so not squashed) goes kind of tingly and numb. If I swap sides the new top arm "empties." I normally feel better if I drink rehydration drinks, but that is because my low BP is exacerbated and tipped over the edge by not absorbing salts very well (no large bowel). You might have a different underlying reason (has it started since you went on ADs)?

I think it probably is worth getting your BP checked, so easy for them to do.

Thanks everyone
