Have you called the doctors yet?

BudaisintheZONE · 06/07/2010 11:11

Has he eaten recently? Could it be low blood sugar?

If I were you I'd be worried too and would definitely go to GP and push for a quick referral. Is the trembling constant or only occasional? Obviously trembling can be a sign of feeling cold or feeling excited, but assuming you've ruled those out then perhaps try to keep a diary of when it happens, how long it goes on for, was there anything he ate or drank directly beforehand that could have caused the trembling (such as a lot of sugar, or even caffeine)? Does he have any other symptoms that you are aware of? Any aches an pains? Trembling can be due to a neurological problem, so if your GP doesn't mention it then maybe ask whether he/she is referring you to a paediatric neurologist.I don't want to scare you but there are some pretty unpleasant things that could feasibly have trembling as one of the symptoms, but fortunately serious conditions such as childhood Parkinsons Disease are extremely rare but nonethelss need to be ruled out, for your peace of mind if nothing else. Thyroid problems, fatigue, stress, headaches...all sorts of things can apparently produce tremors...so hopefully you'll be able to rule out anything serious and get whatever it is treated. Good luck.

Hi

It stopped completely by 9am but we went anyway to see gp

he said it might be becasue he hasn't been eating much lately (he's a big boy) or that there might be an infection brewing.

Said I did right thing to bring him, ot keep a close eye and to come back if it continues
