Your Hayfever tips please

Had hayfever for all of my 34 years and I am utterly sick of it.

It waxes and wanes, but this year it's crippling me.

I take eye drops and the bog standard Boots antihistamines (OTC as they work out cheaper than prescriptions) but they aren't touching it this year.

I get Nasonex if I'm bad with sneezing and drips but this year it's all itchy, burning eyes and ears and throat and and...

What meds work for you?

Thanks Pixie.

I've had allergy testing so know what types of grasses and pollen I'm allergic to.It's all the main grasses and tree pollen .

No sneezing this year, just intense reaction in my eyes and my chest is affected for the first time ever(I've been prescribed a inhaler, which helps in the morning when it's bad).

Will look into changing my meds, these one a day jobs don't work for me,they are fine for about 4 hours and then it all kicks in again.I'm finding first thing is bad and last thing at night, dawn and dusk.

All of us in the household are suffering,dh & ds with sneezing and dd with her asthma.Damn allergies!.

Have you tried giving up dairy? I used to get all those symptoms now I get none(unless I accidentally have dairy).

Eating local honey regularly is said to be good.
(no harm in trying it)

Lloyds allergy reliever has been a huge help in this house. You look very silly as younstick something up your nose which glows, but DD and I have both found it effective. It should come up if you google.

About two years ago I started using goats milk and I have also had homeopathy for hayfever. Not sure which one has managed to reduce the symptoms but I am having far less trouble with symptoms than in previous years. Worth a go, not instant results but something to aim for.

I have lactose free milk and have done for about 2 years due to excema (tried soya and goats too) but can't give up cheese, although I have cut down so I'm consuming dairy about twice a week.

Hmm.

Will think about local honey too.

Cheers guys.
