I had dd nearly 8 weeks ago, she is my first.
She obiviously didn't want to hand around so i was only in labour 3 hours start to finish. I ended up getting a small tear then an episiotomy.

I was all stiched up and had just the normal amount of swelling and pain, nothing too bad. However after about 4 weeks i started getting achy when i did too much, and a strange dragging/pressure type feeling when i peed or when i touched my vagina. This happened for about a week then eased off gradually, so i didn't think to mention it at my 6 week check.

But now the dragging feeling has come back! Today it happened quite badly when i was just standing up, and i am very achy after not really doing much.

My stiches have healed fine, but they feel very tight, like the hole isn't as big as it used to be. I don't know if this is related to the dragging and achy felings

So i guess my questions are...
Is it normal to get the funny pressure feelings? Its not my insides trying to escape is it?!
And why do my stiches feel so tight? It's to the extent that i don't see how i could have sex as there is just no way anything is going to fit in!

I had that feeling for a very long time after having ds1.
It was so uncomfortable, I remember not being able to hold him for long if I was standing up.
I'd say mine went on for about 10 months at least.

Are you doing your pelvic floor exercises?

Mine ached for ages, in fact the stitched tear didn't stop oozing blood for a good couple of months. Finally went to the doctor, who said it was perfectly normal, it stopped the next day!

SilveryMoon I do them when i remember...but i think that area is okay because i can stop the flow of pee pretty easily.

That's good then.
I was just thinking that by doing the exercises, the blood would be flowing and might help with further healing and things.
