My DS was eating his dinner (5-30pm), and I gave him some beans to have a go on, and they were not hot enough, so he spoons some in, he gags on them and does a massive sick.

He should go to the CMs tomorrow, but she has a 48h no contact policy after the S&Ds.

He has since eaten and had a breast feed. poos normal, seems fine in himself. Went to bed normally. I think the beans made him urge and he is not suffering from a bug.

Can I send him to the CM tomorrow?

He is 19m.

Well surely the obvious answer is to see how he goes through the night and how he is in the morning?

If he has a bug he will almost certainly be ill again in the night (hope he isn't, obv).

thatsnotmymonkey · 15/06/2010 22:19

I know, I will do that. I just need to decide if I will get everything together for tomorrow- lunch etc, or not.

He has been fine up until now, but I don't want to jinx it!

I think you should follow your cm policy, it is there for a reason and I'm afraid when you signed contracts you agreed to them. Plus its really unfair on her if you don't tell her and another child or herself gets poorly.

Whether or not he is sick again you must keep him off

Twice now I have ended up closed because "he was only sick/had diarrhoea once & then he was absolutely fine"

thatsnotmymonkey · 15/06/2010 22:27

Yep, that is what I think too, but if it was a bug surely he would still be sick now, or sick again?

I have always kept him off when he has been ill, and love my CM, I would never do something irresponsible. It is just I think he made himself sick. Not a bug. But I am not a DR, so what do I know?!

it is a hard one, but keep him off and if he turns out to be fine look at it as speacial mummy son day plus I think the weather is going to be nice, have a day out if all is good with him

Katymac · 15/06/2010 22:31

Often bugs are just one-offs - there is something in there & it needs to come out

Neither is your CM a Dr; my rule is if you can prove it isn't a bug (in writing) then fine otherwise err on the side of caution.

27 people (adults & children) ended up ill from one 2yo who was ill once & sent in

thatsnotmymonkey · 15/06/2010 22:33

OK, so next question is work, I can either tell them my son is sick and take a days holiday, or just call in sick myself. What should I do? I could also say I am working from home, which I could do a bit of work, in the day and then work alot in the eve.

Personally, if I could honestly say I'd get a full day's work in somehow, I'd do the working from home thing.

thatsnotmymonkey · 16/06/2010 09:24

going to take the day as unpaid leave. sick again this morning. poor little monkey

Good that you're not going to send him..

DS did this when he was 1yo. He was sick once in the 24 hours before he went to his minders. 3 days later EVERYONE came down with norovirus. blergh..

You're probably right, and hopefully you'll get a nice day at home with him, rather than a bug
