I had a lump removed from my breast about 3 weeks ago. There was also cysts and chronic infection.

My dis-solvable stitches have nearly dissolved. I have had quite a lot of bleeding but the dr said it was a haematoma and was quite normal. But it is still leaking blood and I guess pus. From where it is leaking it looks yellowy brown and gunky and it is starting to smell.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Go to GP and get it swabbed and some antibiotics.Do you feel ok in self,do you havbe a temperature or anything?Sounds like the site is infected.

I feel very tired but no fever or anything.

I am wondering if I am a slow healer as I had real problems with a my c section scar, it got infected and never healed properly.

It sounds infected, you need to pop and see your GP. No fever is good, it means it's localised so hasn't spread. You need to get it sorted as it will spread though.

How deep was the infection? If it was quite deep they should probably have packed it and let it heal from within because there is always the chance of small pockets of infection remaining.

Go to your GP as others have said. Look out for heat from the area, swelling, red veins tracking and feeling fluey.

Good luck

you need to see your GP. pronto. you are going to need ABs by the sound of it, and something specific. they will give you a AB for soft tissue infections and possibly swab the wound to check your on the right ones.

Thank you all. Ihad some of the pus removbved and had a weeks worth of anti biotics which finished about a week before the operation. The surgeon said it was still infected when he removed the lump. It wasn't packed. After the relief of not having cancer I was hoping never to go to the doctors again, hahaha.
