ASHERMANS SYNDROME - raising awareness of how it can lead to infertility

Article here to raise awareness

I don't think this is as rare as doctors would have us believe; more that it is very much underdiagnosed.

My Asherman's was caused by the op during my c section, and although I have had two ops to clear the adhesions my fertility would now appear to be shot. I am a bit concerned that mine might have returned, although the pain is nowhere near like it was - but I have such light and short periods once more.

My Gp completely dismissed me off hand when I visited him a few times in the year or so after DD's birth. It was only when I saw a locum when Dd was 3.5-4 years old before I was even referred, and then another 2 year almost befor I had the op. Didn't stand a chance really!

Just wanted to let people know about this really, and the symptoms to look out for.

Aack, I reckon that's exactly what my step-sister had (has), although she had it throughout her abdomen and knew that she had it long before she had a child (I don't know about whether she ever had an abortion, though).

She went to a Chinese herbalist and credits him with enabling to conceive her one and only child (after 10 yrs of ttc).

It doesn't have to be caused by an abortion.

Mine was because of a c section.

Often a D&C after a miscarry can be the cause.
