exposure to slapped cheek and 37 weeks pregnant

Hello, it's not me that's been exposed, it's my neighbour who's been exposed through my son (almost 4 years old). There have been several cases in the area and I know my son was exposed two weeks ago. He now has a rash on both cheeks and one wrist, it's bumpy and looks horrible but he's otherwise perfectly fine. Or it could be an allergic reaction and his ezcema - but that might be wishful thinking (because of my neighbour).

What should I recommend my neighbour do? Obviously she should tell her midwife but should I also convince her to get a GP appointment first thing on Monday? I don't want to overreact and scare her though - I can remember how easily it is to be terrified in pregnancy when the risk is non-existant or tiny so I am trying to make sure she doesn't google by not talking about it...

What should she expect her GP to do? A blood test to check she has it? If her GP says she's fine, is that okay (sometimes some GPs underreact compared with others).

I think its only a problem if the pregnancy is less than 20 weeks.

I was exposed to slap cheek before 20 weeks by my nephew, my mum had no recollection of me ever having it as a child, the MW did a blood test which showed I was immune, so I must of had it without even realising!

Only a problem under 20 weeks.

that's what the NHS site says - I did see some previous threads with contradictory statements though...
