Quick-fix for crepe paper tummy?

Naetha · 21/05/2010 16:11

DS is 2.5 and DD is 6 months, and I've just lost 2 stone on top of that, so my stomach is basically a mess.

For the first time ever, I'd be happy to wear a bikini, except for the problem that the skin on my stomach is like crepe paper. I have stretch marks as well, but it's the crepe paper effect that is the worst.

I've tried palmer's tummy butter, bio oil, and moisturiser to no avail.

Any suggestions?

I've never worn a bikini in my life, but couldn't you get some kind of nice high waisted bottoms to cover you from bellybutton downwards?

Congrats on the weight loss by the way. Unfortunately short of plastic surgery/lazer treatment there's no getting rid of crepey skin.

well rest assured no one will care about your crepey belly (If I had a pound for every time I have said that on bikini threads) Have you seen what most other women look like in a two piece? Elle Macpherson they aint, me included.

if you are very conscious wear a sheer beach kaftany short tunic beach top thing

And well done on the 2 stone loss

Go to an Irish beach and you won't feel so bad .

Well done on the weight loss. I second the higher waisted bottoms idea, or maybe you could start with a tankini?

This is why most woman with more than 1 child don't wear bikinis.

I'd say try to find a really nice swimming costume.

Or a plastic surgeon.

3 kids...and I wear a bikini and am as white as a sheet of paper

Nothing I can say will make you wear one of course but PLEASE dont think anyone will be looking at you on the beach! they've all got their own body issues to obsess over.

I sympathise. I had twins and my skin is like a crumpled paper bag. Time has helped a bit, but there's not a lot you can do apart from fantasise about tummy tucks!

Thanks for the reassurance

I will wear a bikini - after giving birth twice tbh I'm not fussed who sees what bits, especially on holiday in another country.

I was just hoping that my latest hang-up was easily solvable!

Moral of the story: When you're 18 and have the body to carry off a bikini, do it.

A good deal of time helps even more, though. Cold comfort to you right now, but my youngest is 8 and I'm far less crepey than I was a few years ago. The wrinkles transferred magically to my face....

People abroad are usually a lot more tolerant - French women wearing a one piece either have a huge scar (I know one woman who had a vertical CS incision), are immensely, immensely fat or have just given birth!
