Had 3rd baby in November, did my PF exercises when I should and have been fine, can run, sneeze, cough etc.
Anyway last night I did a class at the gym, lots of jumping/running etc and i leaked I was mortified.
I made it through about 50 minutes but had to miss the last bit because I knew i wouldnt have held up.

So whats going on? Do i need to keep on doing my exercises? Is this normal when you exercise but fine the rest of the time, or is something else going on?

TIA

Unfortunately totally normal.

I've had 2 dc. After ds i returned to normal after a few months having done exercises all the way through. It's now 7 months after dd and i'm still leaking with all jumping exercises. I still do the exercises but nothing is making a difference. I now just make sure i always wear black on my bottoms to cover up!!!

The most embarrassing is at a wedding a few weeks ago when i had an accident on the dance floor - mortifying!!!

Any advice anyone else? Other than just continuing with pf exercises

Hi girls

I haven't had this but I am having pelvic floor physio for prolapses (lovely) and honestly I would really recommend it.

I have been taught to do my PF really, really properly, and it makes me realise how important it is and also how hard it is to identify the right muscles.

I would def asked to be referred, it is so worth it and I think there can be a feeling that women have to 'live with it' but you don't and you can improve things no end.

I have had some electro stimulation stuff and at my last session I had gone from 30% on the feedback machine to 60% just from doing the exercises properly and regularly, which was visible proof that it makes a diiference.

Sadly has not helped prolapses at all so I see the consultant next month to discuss surgery but at least I know my PF is not to blame lol

Good luck with it, who'd be a gal eh!

thanks muriel I think I may go and speak to my gp about that. I have Bupa so maybe can be seen quickly for physio.
Is it embarrassing inserting things in front of a physio? I hate it when I have to have an internal or smear

I cant spend the rest of my life never jumping up and down

oh blimey yes its normal unfortunately. After my first (cs) I was fine, but after the second - vbac with forceps, i have been quite incontinent. Its ok now but when I go out for a run I have to wear a pad. Am going to the physio next week to get it sorted out hopefully.

Hi again

I can't say I relish my physio lol but all the women's health physios where I am are women too and mine is so nice.

I'm always given a towel to put over my knees and things, I don't know really I have just got on with it otherwise my problem will get worse and worse....I know what you mean tho, you would exactly choose it!
