Preferably without reference to politics please

For over a year now I have had a lump up my nose, on the vault of my nostril. GP has prescribed antibiotic ointment twice and it made it reduce a bit but it keeps coming back and in three days has become the size of a small pea.

Can't see it (obviously) but it keeps going all crusty and gross and it hurts a lot and gives me a headache.

Have had email chat with GP who says he probably needs to refer me to ENT guy but I am going in so he can have a squizz in the morning, but has anyone had anything like this or know what it is?

And no, it's not a pea, a sex toy, a labour party candidate or a bollock before you ask

Poor WMMC. I have never had any of teh above up my nose, and can't be very helpful, but couldn't let your plea go unheard and can at least promise you its not a second head

dh has had the equivalent, basically a spot in his nose, very unpleasant but didn't last as long as yours...has the GP ever given you systemic antibiotics, or just ointment? I doubt ointment would stay in the right place long enough to work, tbh!

I've had both - the systemic ones for something else. I have a history of getting blood poisoning from stupid lumps before.

Thank you for replying though.

My husband had something like this although don't know how far up it was (at one point he got so annoyed at it he pulled it out, would not recommend that, he said it hurt a lot andf then it just grew back), doctor refered him to ent and they removed it. Did also suggest that they could try injections to reduce it but consultant advised surgery.

You're most welcome

Blood poisoning...yikes. ENT good idea, then, I would think!

whomovedmychocolate · 12/05/2010 20:32

Champagneforlunch - pulled it out????

Yes, he pulled it out was then surprised that there was lots of blood. I have no idea what he was thinking.
The surgery was straight forward and he has had no problems since think he wishes he got it seen to sooner.

Try looking at the blood type way of eating 'cos it may be an allergy to acertain food or drink.
