I'm convinced my mum has it.

Thanks

I have fm. It hurts all over! It's a pain, an ache, a soreness that's hard to describe. Also, as well as the muscle pain, it's really REALLY painful in certain places, known as sore spots. If someone pokes you there, or you bang yourself there, it is AGONY! For several minutes after, it's like you're on fire where you've been touched.

In the morning it's really hard, like I've turned to stone! I'm so stiff and sore. I can't move right away and can't bend. It takes ages for me to loosen up.

I also get headaches and my jaw clicks. That's called something beginning with t that I can't remember atm.

Which is another symptom! Fibro-fog.

Thanks for replying, what do you take for the pain?

whatever I can get!

Aspirin & parecetamol usually. tbh, nothing really works that well. You just live with it. Sometimes get some stronger from the gp. also am on amitriptyline. 25mg at night. That helps me to sleep - one of the problems with fm is you don't get restful sleep. Am due to go back to gp to discuss having fluoxetine too. That's supposed to help ease the pain.

Thanks, hope the fluoxetine helps, my friend takes it for depression and she was just saying on Friday she hasn't had any pain from an old injury since being on it!

really? that sounds good.

Does any of what I described sound like your mum's pain?

cocolepew · 09/05/2010 19:05

I've been on the phone and she's deciding she maybe has rheumatoid arthritis. She has a massive lump on her thumb. Some of the fibro symptons match up but she doesn't think there's enough.

I'm on citalopram and suffer from back and neck ache. I've been more or less pain free since I stareted. It belongs to the same group of ADs as fluoxetine.

Good luck
