It's usual to bleed for a while(and feel some mild discomfort) after having a coil fitted and also after coming off the pill.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it becomes full of clots/is very heavy or is very painful.

It takes at least one full cycle for your body to become accustomed to being off the pill and used to a coil.

I've had my coil for 2/12 years. It has made my periods heavier, but the first was the worst. I don't know about the Pill - the reason I had my IUD was because I couldn't take it and for medical reasons had to make sure I had the most reliable contraception available. The heavier periods is the only drawback, though I am worried about getting it out.

Whoops, ask your GP for an overnight cream as well. I had a spot problem (not enough for acne though) and it helped a lot.
