eczema worse from sun cream - any recommendations?

Hi

My dd (2) has some excema on her arms and hands which has almost cleared up, however used sun cream yesterday (sensitive, factor 50 ombre soleil (sorry don't know how to spell it) and by evening excema had flared up. We had the same problem last year and I was recommended the have one by dr's and friends, however it is still a problem.

Can anyone recommend a suncream that I could use?

Thanks

We used one when the girls were little and prone to excema (actually we still use it now!) called SunSense. It is produced by an Australian company and you can order it online. The one we used is the toddler milk, SPF 50. It comes as a roll on, is very easy to apply, and is thin rather than thick, absorbs easily and also protected my very fair blond child. The bottle looks small, but it does last a good while. If you get the larger bottles of regular SunSense the mixture is thicker, and to my mind, not so nice (bit greasy).

My son was exactly the same - it took me years to figure it out though. I found that Tesco's Baby sunscreen Factor 50 (he's also incredibly fair skinned) didn't irritate him. Unfortunately it's one of those that turns you ghostly white.

Bergaderm Mousse (used to be called Proderm). DDs 1&2 always used to react to any other suncream so I never bother to buy other stuff now. You can sometimes get it from Waitrose but I always google it to see who's got the best offer (usually between £9-£13). It's a SPF30 mousse which gives protection for up to 6 hours, so you don't have to smear it on every 2 hours. HTH

boots Soltan Baby suncream is the only one that doesn't irritate my DD's eczema. It comes in factor 50+ and isn't too horrid to apply (quite thick though)

Anything with colour in it, or that is thin enough to spray just makes her worse. Even with the baby suncream we still make sure we always bathe her after every sunny day to remove it before bed.

Sainsburys factor 50 - discovered it last year after struggling for years with suncream vs dd's psoriasis. Only one for us that didn't irritate. I suspect tis the same one as the tesco one.

You could try the Greenpeople website, they do sunscreen without chemicals or perfumes which could irritate the skin. I'm sure they do sunscreens for toddlers.
