Hi, my sisters boyfriend has type 2 diabetis. Can anyone tell me if it is just insulin that he would have to inject?

Might sound weired but my DN has just come round saying he injected himself with the wrong suff and had to have 6 days off work.

He is a moody fucker and always blames this on being diabetic because when he injects he gets lumps in his arms. My sister made him go to the docs coz that cant be right and he didnt mention it and went on about another unrealted complaint. This makes me think he is a liar and attention seeking.

I can understand him being upset but he is always doing silly things like using an old needle and then he complains it hurts.

perhaps different sort of insulin (there are lots) some people take a short acting one at one dose and a long acting one at a different dose. maybe he got them mixed up?

can't blame being diabetic for being a moody fucker though. it is a bastard but there are plenty of cheeery diabetic people who just get on with it.

and he needs to use a new needle and inject in different sites if it hurts.

Yeah he says its 2 different ones. what i dont get is he injects in his stomach but apprantly gets lumps in his arms

I think im a little bit more coz he is turning my sister into a weirdo that treats him better than her own son

Lumps can occur but only if someone uses the same site over and over again. My dd is a type 1 and injects herself in the legs and tummy and sometimes I do it in her arms to get a good spread of sites. Using an old needle is just irresponsible as the needle can bend. There is absolutely no need to re use needles.

Perhaps someone needs to point out to him the consequences of not treating diabetes well. It's enough to scare anyone into managing it properly.
