You must get referred to an endo specialist.
I got referred to a gyno last Sept - had been suffering from severe pain every month during my period..nearly passing out each time with sudden excuriating pain, also puts me in bed as sleeping it off helps. Anyway went to hosp, had a scan where it was said I had endo, told must have a lapo otherwise it woudl spread to other organs which I did 10 days later...was very poorly for 2 weeks recovering, off work, 3 scars on tummy, pain in shoulders from gas for 5 days solid.
3 months later pain came back I was gutted!! Went to Dr and got referred back, whilst I was waiting for appt I looked at the endo uk site - it was an absolute relief to find people going through the same.
I posted on he forumn and asked if anyone knew of a speciialist in my area 3-4 people recommended the same consultant. I also looked on this site to find and search one www.drfosterhealth.co.uk/consultant-guide/
Rang my Dr and got him to re-refer to this particular Dr. Have seen him and I feel so relieved to talk to a Dr who knows everything about this disease, has given me other options, is easy to speak to and who listens. The lap I had last year was ok as it confirmed I did have endo but it wasnt removed just "washed out" and was a waste of time. I'd just wish gyno's who dont have the experience of dealing with this just said or referred you to someone who does...it saves time
I urge you to research a specialist and get your Dr to refer you. Also read this letter endoboard.yuku.com/topic/8155 it really opended my eyes and made me research more
Hope this helps
