ok, i hope someone can give some advice or opinions on this. basically since just after i got pregnant (ds is 2 1/2 now) i have lost all interest in sex, felt ever so slightly depressed (a bit 'meh' iykwim?), have dry skin (excema on hands flared up terribly last year after not having it since i was a child but have always had fairly dry skin) and i always fall asleep on the sofa pretty much every night without fail.
i know a lot of this is actually symptomatic of having a small child but if i'm honest he actually sleeps extremely well these days so i do get a full (11.30 - 8ish) nights sleep. is it symptomatic of anything else though? i miss having a sex drive and whilst i am happy to work on the 'if you do it you want it more' theory i'd actually like it to come back of its own accord.
any ideas on what i can do to pep myself up?

One of the marvellous things about being in the UK is that seeing a doctor is totally free of charge. :-) Chronic fatigue, flaky skin, mild depression, loss of libido.... any one of them would justify seeing a doctor. So if you're worried, make an appointment. Be as full and frank about your symptoms as possible - doctors see connections that you might think are unrelated - and let the professionals make a judgement.

In the meantime, pay particular attention to your diet making sure you're getting a good balance of different foods and especially plenty of iron-rich and vitamin-C rich foods. A daily multivitamin is never a bad idea.

Point taken, i think i just wasn't sure if it actually amounted to anything as they are all pretty minor in themselves? but what got me thinking was one of my friends mentioned thyroids then i saw something on here and whilst i know you should never look things up it got me started thinking it might all amount to something, or i'm deficient in something. but yes, i guess i should go to the doctor.

Self-diagnosis is a dangerous thing. Yes, thyroid issues could leave you with fatigue, scaly skin but usually tags on with other problems as well. But plain old anaemia or some other form of malnutrition could result in the same symptoms. The overworked term 'stress' can leave someone with all kinds of physical symptoms... including fatigue, loss of libido, depression. If you were overweight (you don't mention that) or you don't get any exercise that can affect mood, energy levels etc. See why you need a doctor to sort out the probables from the possibles?

Which is why I'd say... 'look at your diet and take a multivitamin'... short-term so that you could eliminate some of the more common causes of your symptoms. And check in with your doctor so that they can test you for the less common ones. Never sit at home worrying, surfing medical sites and guessing when you have the full expertise of the NHS ready and waiting.

Good luck
