I took it tues afternoon, so 48 hours ago, and not an awful alot has changed. Slighty less discharge (eww), but still red and sore.

I just applied a bit of Canesten cream on, nut it stung a little.

I'd go to the doctor if it's still the same tomorrow, maybe it's not thrush?

I've always found it works really quickly - feeling better within 24 hours.

i find it reduced symptoms within 24 hours, but often need to take one 24 hours after the other to kill it.

had to take mega antibiotics in jan this year and only just killed off the thrush from that last week. 4 diflucan, 2 pessaries, loads of cream and tea tree oil and garlic, plus double strength acidphilus!

hi missus, i had a search on some old threads, and one person said that when they had diflucan nothing seemed to happen, then suddenly by day four it was gone.

It's deffo thrush, white cottage cheese, and has inproved slightly. Second time i have had it in 5 months, and i fear maybe my mooncup is at fault. Or rather I am at fault haven't been fastidious enough, altho i do rinse it the same after each insertion. I came off the pill about 8 months ago, and have used the mooncup since.

The first time i had the thrush my gp gave me cream in an applicator which you had to insert, and that worked really well. Maybe i should go back, tomorro, just in case, so i hvae something to fall back on over the weekend.

Last time I took diflucan it took about 4 days to work.

smitten omg poor you!

Gp said they don't like to prescribe diflucan more than one time every six months, as it can really stir things up and make it worse?

piratecat...i have thrush every month...and only since i started using my mooncup...

do you think yours is related to mc use? i would be really interested to hear...

piratecat · 15/04/2010 21:54

well it's something i am thinking of yes. This is becuase i haven't had thrush for yrs, not since my 20's, and i am now 41. I have been on the pill for 2 yrs,( the mini one so no periods at all) and before that, when not on the pill i was using tampax.

I don't know if it's coincidence, that it may be hormonal, now that i am not on pill?

Maybe it is from not getting rid of very tiny invisible bacteria on the mooncup? it would seem this could be very likely, and so cuase imbalance of stuff.

thanks pirate. i too am a bit lax with my mc hygiene...its always washed well in hot soapy water, but not anything more bacteria killing than that.... you could be onto something! surely though, anything yukky wouldn't survive for say 3 weeks whilst being kept in its little bag thing after being washed....or could it? [yukky]

Well i talked to my gp, and this time she took a swab, said there are a couple types of thrush, and seeing as the cream you insert worked last time, she gave me that.

I just think i particularly snestive to tings down there, and any rummaging, mooncup, or otherwise!, can result in thrush.

PLus, i have read that sugar is a thursh sufferers worst enemy, of which i have had a fair bit of, this past week or so. easter eggs etc.... (and red wine).

I think it's a combination of things.

right off to boil that mooncup to death!!
