My stomach has been playing up so, so badly the last few weeks.

I get my blood results friday and am still waiting for my sigmoidoscopy appointment.

DH wanted a curry last, I said I didn't think I could, but he said I should try and see if it sets me off and it did, big time, I was in agony this morning, it was like labour

It'll do my diet good at least.

I can't either.

It started before I had my gall bladder out. I am also a coeliac and had a visitor to my house today who is also coeliac. She cannot eat curry either. Agony, she said and I agree. May be a coincidence but we also both have to take Gaviscon at night as we both suffer reflux.

Do any other foods trigger it?

I'm not sure ABD, It was curry the very first time as I thought I had food poisoning, but I've had it after lasgane, pizza, loads of things.

It started off happening in the middle of the night and it would last a few hours.

Now its cramps daily, but mild, and a good few mornings and it lasted about 6 hours last saturday.

They think it could be IBS, but I have Crohns in the family too.

I will really miss curries though!

You poor thing . It could be IBS, I have that and can be in agony if I eat food that is too spicy, and it usually gets worse when I'm pregnant.

Good luck with your blood tests.

Could you have developed a sensitivity to garlic?

Disenchanted5 · 04/04/2010 22:51

I don't know crystal,

I suppose if they rule out IBS and crohns then it may be something I've become sensitive too so would have to try and find out what.

It would have to be a pretty severe reaction though as I was fine eating anything 6 months ago and now I'm vomiting and on the loo for hours.

I woudl put a fair amount of money on you having gall stones. My first excruciating attack was after a lasagne.

Vomiting, severe pain, feels like bad food poisoning. Anything fatty or rich will trigger it.

Push to have a ultrasound on our gall bladder. GPs seem completely unaware of this condition oe just dismiss it. I suffered fr over a year and my mother for 2 years.

They will do liver tests first but ultrasound is the only test that really shows the stones.

Women are especially prone. Was thepain just under your ribs or breast bone.

My Gran had to have gallstones roemoved.

Not under my ribs, my lower stomach, well around the bellybutton and under.

TBH I'm quite worried now, I expected to have it after the curry, i was stupid to eat that, so yesterday I had toast, about half an easter egg, and for tea I had mash , a sauasage , veg and gravy. oh and a bowl of cereal.

So I thought I would be OK.

But at about 10pm it started up and I had the worst bought ever, lasting until about 3am, it only stopped when the food I was vomiting up turned to bile so my stomach was finally empty.

I was considering going to A&E it was that bad

Today I'm going to leave out the chocolate and milk, see if that does anything.

I'm really scared, I can't go through this daily.
