I am sure this has been done to death and I would be v grateful if anyone would bump a previous thread. I have joined daisywotsit and early menopause forums.

Long term health is my concern. Prepared to do ANYTHING on the diet/health front.

It started at age 37 I think.

If it's between cancer and ost, I'd rather have ost. Which side do the night sweats come down on? HRT and disputed cancer risk?

Keep an open mind staggers- you will have plenty of time to make wise choices, but the best thing you can do is get expert advice- which you are- and then make informed choices.

I saw gynae after a bone density scan showed I had low density. I was not menopausal, in fact I have had late-ish meno at 53. I did what I could for a few years and it was getting slightly better but I wanted advice. - I have no risk factors except being small and light!

The HRT is for my meno symptoms but it also helps my bones as a "side effect". I also do lots of lifestyle measures to help my bones and health.

You are doing the right thing to get help sooner rather than later and it will put you back in control.

On the earlymenopause site, I am Jemima, after Mrs Puddleduck. I have posted there a more detailed history than here but I am going through early clumsiness with the new website format. I will get the hang of it.

I have just been to that sight and just read the word migraine. Where does risk of migraine come in? Remind me to put that on my notes before I see Mr Purple.

Again, much appreciated and I am going to get the hang of the earlymenopuse website.

No. I am keeping a closed mind until I see your husband and then I will find fault in him.

The main thing is that I see your husband.

Sometimes a closed mind is good.

He is at least a doctor with alleged qualifications. I have literally gone from worried I am infertile to Camilla. Happy Easter all, I don't know what people did before mn.

staggers - it is not as simple as you have to get one or the other disease! Pre "average age"menopause you are MEANT to have oestrogen in your body, so taking what you need artificially does not pose the same risk as after aged 50+.

Also, you have to put the risks into perspective which My Husband can do for you, lol.

If for example you have a 1:10 chance of getting osteoporosis without HRT but only a 1:1000 chance of chance then you can see what's what. he will give you the figures etc.

He said to me that I had more chance of dying in my car on the roads than dying from taking HRT short term.

you might have lost your eggs but you haven't lost your humour Happy Easter and REPORT BACK.
