is there an age when a brace would stop working

ds(16) has lost his, again grr

would getting a replacement do any more good? or would it not have much more of an effect now?

I had one at 27, and needed another at 33 when I had decided not to bother with my retainer any more. Expensive decision, that one.

Teeth, afaik, move around all the time. They do not get fixed in one place during your teens.

My 13-year old will need one soon. The orthodonist assured me that there is no fixed window when this has to be done

My Mum had her first brace at 75 after putting up with crooked teeth all her life! so there is still time for your son.
