6mth old girl - problem with lady bits

Has anyone elses little girl had this problem? On last doctors check she showed me that there was a piece of skin covering her lady hole. She said that when I was in the bath I should run the face cloth over it and see if I could gently break it.

Not easy to do. And baby gets really upset when I go fishing down there.
Problem is that I can't find the hole anymore? and it looks like her flaps are fused together. Is that normal?

Will it get better by its self? Should I be worried?

I would go back to the doctor TBH. I haven't heard of this before at all but I would not mess around with that area!

was anyhting flagged up at birth?

i would definitely not be messing around down there, the risk of infection and hurting your little girl is too great, i would go to the docs or HV as soon as poss

you might want a referral to a peadiatrician if there is an issue

Go to the doctors. It is possible for the vaginal opening to not be an opening (if you get what I mean). It is not a major problem but I would get it looked at again.

Try not to get too worried though. In by far the majority of cases all the correct bits are present and correct the labiae are simply fused over it. If this is the case a check by a paed and you can be offered a simple treatment (though I think some docs don't treat straight away). I think most often an oestrogen cream can do the trick and there are no long term problems with the girl's functioning.

With regards to the newborn check the labiae can fuse after birth so could have been typical appearance on delivery.
