i went once a month for about 4 months which really nuked the big black pubie ones on my chin. then i decided to cut down to when i see the regrowth. the regrowth is really light compared to before.

the shave the hair off before the treatment which is fairly alarming.

it is the best method of hair removal i ahve tried including electrolysis.

Had about 4 treatments for chin hair, then stopped, as it seemed to have had an effect (and i didn't want to spend any more money). About a year later, the chin hair has come back (possibly new hair??) so am thinking of having some more treatments. My local salon charges £60. Am considering doing my tache too, which is alarmingly thick and dark, and so even with bleaching is pretty noticeable.

Don't know anyone who's done it for skin - is it for scarring choclab?

I've been looking into it choclab, but hadn't heard that it could be used for the purpose you want. I know it can lessen broken veins though (seals them off or something...) so I guess that would even up skintone and reduce redness.

My 15 yr old dd is desperate to have it done to get rid of the dark hair on her forearms. There's a salon just down the road that does it, but I'm not sure if I should take her to one of the bigger, more well-known ones? Any advice on that (sorry if this is hijacking) would be welcome - I'm not sure if it's the kind of procedure that would be risky if it was done by someone who hadn't had masses of experience.

Friend had it for hair removal - she was warned it may not be as effective for her as she has dark skin and hair (she's Asian) but the results were good. The best results are dark hair on pale skin.

FWIW this isn't something I'd take shortcuts with - the thought of the damage that could be done to your skin with a laser is pretty scary. Another friend of mine had cut-price laser treatment in Turkey and suffered terrible burns - she's quite badly scarred. Id' want to ask lots of questions about training and possible side-effects (for eg do you need to stay out of the sun afterwards?)

I think you are advised to stay out of the sun afterwards - but then at this time of year, the sun isn't too strong, so you should be ok.
