Can stress really do this?

Last year I had a GA so the docs could look inside me to see why I was bleeding between periods. They diagnosed polyps on the womb. I went for a follow up appointment 3 months later and was told there were no polyps and it was just my womb lining .

My period finished about 3-4 days ago and today I have bled. I have had a bit of a day but tbh no more than usual as most days are stressful atm but I can't stand to have this all over again.

Im not sure tbh but didnt want your post ot go unanswered as I see youre not having a great time at the mo. So was there no follow up when they discovered it WASnT polyps?

I know that my periods in the past have definitely been affected by stress in terms of when they came, how heavy / light etc they are.

Sorry not to be of more help.

No follow up as the consultant said it was my womb lining. I am thinking now I really ought to have asked some questions but it only happened once after the op and dh thought that was down to us having sex. I definitely wasn't having sex when it happened today!!

But surely the womb lining wouldnt normally just come away randomly? I think id ask GP that. Argh - being a woman is a pain sometimes!

I just can't deal with any more stuff atm tbh.

Fab my friend is very stressed ATM and she's having bleeding between periods/having another too soon. She was told it was stress doing it too.

waitingforbedtime · 14/03/2010 17:18

I know, have so been there and done that but I guess if you went ot the doc and they said well it could be x/y/z or no its nothing to worry about or well we need to do more investiugation at least you would be moving forward with it?

With things like this I find that because you never know when it will strike its harder to deal iwth because it can totally knock you off course iyswim? So not 'dealing' with it isnt going to stop it happening or stop you worrying is it?

fab I have had this for about 2 years now and the only advice I was offered was to have the coil fitted. It worked for about 12 weeks but now it is back (every single bloody day(. Am going this week to see about having coil removed and get yet more investigation.

FabIsDoingPrettyWell · 14/03/2010 17:27

I am struggling with absolutely everything at the moment. I need to get past that.

I wish I could say or do something. Is there anything I can do to help? Probably not I know given that we are 'just' on the net but am willing to listen?

FabIsDoingPrettyWell · 14/03/2010 17:47

Thank you but it is my problem and I need to sort myself out.

well, ifit is stress that can cause it that would explain my weird odd periods that make sense or logic in their appearance. How is you iron level Fab? it will make you feel really crap if it drops due to the oddities.

waitingforbedtime · 14/03/2010 17:51

Fair enough, good luck with it all.

FabIsDoingPrettyWell · 14/03/2010 17:51

Has been a long time since I had my iron level checked and they were fine. I am permanently tired though.

would it be worth eating some high iron foods just in case, combined with some potassium rich foods? Iron levels can fluctuate over a 3 week cycle i believe due to that being the life cycle of the red blood cell...wanders off to check science that should really know....

hi hun the womb lining coming away simply means having a period, this sheds the womb lining every month, hopes this info puts your mind at rest.
