Travel to Bali unvaccinated?

Anyone on this forum have experience with travelling to Bali or nearby without vaccinations for their DC's. My 2 DC's have had no vax at all and we use homeopathy as an alternative. I would prefer to continue with this and we are planning a long 3 month trip to Bali. Am keen to hear experiences of people's homeopathy or other un conventional or alternative vaxination situations. With thanks

I make vaccination decisions on a case by case basis.
So I would research recommended vacc and then investigate each one according to prevelence/liklihood of infection and likely outcome. Exactly the same as in the UK.

So if there is a type of infection with very high prevalence and very serious outcomes I may consider. But if I am staying in posh hotels and therate of a particular infection is low with usually low risk of serious outcome then I would waive.
Do you see what I mean.

You may also need to look at your insurance documents very carefully and make sure that the whole policy would not be invalidated were you to travel counter to recommendations. It is not likley but I would certainly want to make sure .

thanks pagwatch. Indeed last night thought it made sense to look at each disease and it's prevelance and it's vaccinations. I'm afraid I am rather of the attitude that even if you do vaccinate there is not always a high chance of immunity gained but that's another discussion. Thanks for your input

justlook

FWIW DD has not had any at all and she is 7. I have not yet found one that I think meets the likely infection, likely serious outcome criteria and I am not suggesting anything re efficacy.
I just thought you wanted descriptions of how people make these choices.

thanks pagwatch. I'm going to look into it despite my instincts. Your input is helpful.

How old are your DCs, and how detailed is your plan of travel within Bali?

I always wonder when people take homeopathic " vaccinations" do they also take homeopathic contraception????

If that works then I'm off to my local woo health food shop to be referred to a homeopath.

Hi, we travelled to Bali (and "worse"!) without any extra vaccinations and two of mine had had the infant ones only. Don't know if this helps. Good luck with your research.

Just one more thing: if you decide to polio vax then you could choose IPV rather than OPV. Fewer adverse reports.

FYI, IPV is standard now in the UK.
