Dd had glandular fever as some of you will have read. It keeps coming back and she catches everything going. At the moment she has a nasty skin thing going on linked to glandular fever called erythema multiforme. She looks like a bowl of bubble wrap. She gets run down really easily and I was wondering if there is anything I can do to help her. I think people are starting to think i'm a hypochondriac because she has always got something.

No offense intended to KMAC1, but kinesiology is one of those 'therapies' that really has very little to substantiate it. Homeopathy has a little more evidence to back it up - still not an abundance - but it does seem to work really well with kids. Unless there's someone in particular who has been recommended, I would avoid kinesiology, if I were you. Sorry, KMAC1, not meaning to shoot your suggestion down there...

The Kneisologist I have seen has diagnosed problems in both my children that have later been backed up after seeing Consultants at the hospital (dd has food allergies that the hospital were having trouble diagnosing - she took half an hour to find out what it was, ds was diagnosed by her to have severe anemia - took him to the GP who agreed to get full blood work done at the hospital - he is still undergoing investigation for an unknown iron absorbtion problem tha is leaving him very anaemic) Sorry but I went in very sceptical and came out totally sure that she was 100% accurate - I am not saying I believe in her and nothing else though! Still go to the GP for things but she is able to get straight to the cause of the problem, without endless (fruitless) hospital and GP appointments

I Have tried Homeopathy and did not find it worked -

I'm still not clear what a kneisologist is. Any thoughts? Thanks

Explaining Kinesiology

What is kinesiology?

Kinesiology is a holistic system of natural health care which uses muscle monitoring to communicate directly with the body. It can assess a person's response to any stimulus.

It draws on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and can evaluate body function through the muscle-meridian relationship. It can also establish connections between imbalances, put them in order of priority and determine the most effective treatment.

Kinesiology applies a wide range of gentle yet powerful techniques. These restore balance and create and sustain health, well-being and more effective functioning. Kinesiology also draws on and integrates other therapies and healing modalities and can be used as an adjunct to any therapy.

Kinesiology is renowned for being able to uncover and help the underlying causes of health problems that are difficult to find by any other means.

Muscle monitoring (testing)

The principal tool of kinesiology is muscle monitoring.

The Kinesiologist applies pressure to a contracted muscle and the client is asked to match or resist that pressure. The Kinesiologist evaluates the functioning of the muscle in response to a specific stimulus. The response of the muscle, whether it is able to remain in contraction or unlocks, gives the Kinesiologist feedback.

This feedback is used to determine what the priority stresses are and the best way to address them.

Who can benefit?

Everyone!

People of all ages - whatever their level of fitness or health - can benefit, including:

babies & children
elderly
athletes
performers
injured
unwell
Even healthy people will benefit from regular kinesiology treatments. Babies and people who cannot be muscle tested directly can be tested through a surrogate.

What are the benefits?

Kinesiology restores the whole system to balance, facilitating the self-healing process.

It can, for example:

increase energy and vitality
prevent illness
improve posture
relieve physical pain and tension
defuse stress and the causes of stress
heal traumas
enhance brain function and co-ordination
discover individual nutritional needs
identify food and environmental sensitivities
find and clear underlying causes of energy blocks/imbalances/diseases

Thankyou so much fimac, I will look into it and see if there are practioners in a sleepy Spanish town. I am open to all paths as I really want to get dds health sorted once and for all.

FIMAC1, just wanted to add that I think complimentary therapies can often come down to the practitioner. Sounds like you have an excellent kinesiologist, who is really intuitive and professional. My homeopath was like that, so perhaps it comes down to who you get.
best of luck anyway, Lucy5
