Hair receding – help!

I've recently noticed that my hairline has receded - it's like male pattern baldness. I know that you can lose hair after pregnancy but my dd (youngest of 3) has just turned 2 so surely it can't be down to that? I had some blood tests recently because I'd been feeling a bit odd (like I might black out etc) and thought I might have low blood pressure or anaemia - but all tests (including thyroid) came back OK. Feeling really paranoid and hideous! Does anyone have any ideas/similar experiences? thanks

I have alopecia...just one bald area..about the size of a mobile phone. You can get alopecia that has the pattern you describe..I would go to your GP for reassurance/referral to dermatologist.
Mine came on from nov to dec and fell out christmas eve! My blood tests are all fab too so hey ho...I am down about it but forget about it most of the time until I notice someone looking at it in the shopping queue!

Mine has thined out/fallen out in the front horse shoe area. I have seen doc and dermatologist as it also burns particularly when sunny. All blood test are normal and they have said that there is nothing they can do. It is thought it is some sort of ecxema. The sugretions are to take iron as although within the normal range may need extra to help hair and switch to organic shampoo. I also have a steriod mouse called bettermouse. It all helps with the burning and somewhat with the hair. It grows back to about an inch or two then falls out again. My feel good solution has been to cut in an big heavy fringe so that it goes back to where the hair is ok. I can have it long and flopy, short and quirky or swept/pinned to the side and it still covers the problem. No one else notices untill I point it out. I know how you feel though as I hate it and it does make me feel bad. I have also recently discovered I get on quite well with Tesco 2-in-1 sport shampoo, my hair is not growing back at the moment but it is not irritating it either. I have explored it medically and unfortunately it is unlikely it will grow back and stay back, so I just have to work around it and hope it gets no worse.

It would be great to keep in touch as it is a horrible experience. If I find anything else I will let you know.
