GP gave me tablets as he said I had migrainous sounding symptoms. I took one, pain went and I was knocked out. I knew it wasn't migraines but trusted the Doc but only took the one after it was confirmed I wasn't having migraines.

I know what is wrong with me and have now had 2 days of pain again - paracetomol does nothing. DH wants me to take the tablets the doctor gave me but I don't want too. There is no guarantee they will dull the pain and it just doesn't feel right as I haven't got what they were prescribed for.

What are the tablets and what have you got wrong with you then?

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 17/02/2010 23:04

Migraine medication is the same stuff they give to patients who suffer from epilepsy, fatigue is a side effect.

What do you think is wrong with you?

bigstripeytiger · 17/02/2010 23:07

There are lots of medicines that are licensed for more than one condition. If you arent sure you could check with your GP if it is till OK to take them even though your diagnosis is different now.

It isn't topamax/topirimate is it?

Hi

They are Pizotifen.

I have neck and back pain due to concussion and also possibly some other problems which I am seeing the neurologist for.

I am off to another osteopathy appointment now.

I am back.

He agrees they won't help.

I have quite a lot of problems and will be going back in 2 weeks.

Glad you are seeing the Doctor and will hopefully get some help Fab.

Hope you don't mind me crashing in on this thread, but have been looking out for you as I thought you would want to know that you gave me advice a couple of weeks ago when I was dithering about whether to TTC (my name was slightly different )

You were so helpful, especially when you are going through such a difficult time, but I wanted you to know what a difference you made to me , a random stranger on the net, and...... I am pregnant!!!! We were lucky first time which is and in equal measures but mainly

Sorry again to gatecrash, but i think it is important you know how helpful and kind you were and I wish you every luck in getting help and support yourself

I am not seeing the doctor, he was the one who prescribed migraines when I had neck damage. I am privately seeing an osteopath.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

Can I be honourary auntie?????

Blame my confusion on the pregnancy brain. I have friends who have seen an osteopath or chiropractor and have been really pleased with what they have achieved, so fingers crossed for you.

You can be honorary auntie, of course you do realise it will be you I come to moan at when I have morning sickness, long labour and sleepless nights

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 18/02/2010 15:16

That is fine .

I hope the osteopath can fix me as I am still in pain after he pulled my head off again today. And I had to pay him for the priviledge!

How are you feeling today Fab, has the pain from the session with the osteopath eased yet?

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 20/02/2010 12:02

It comes and goes, thanks.

I nearly cried this morning as I am scared how my body is failing partly because my head is too full.
