For the past 3 evenings I have been in bad pain with my stomach, terrible cramping and lower back pain.
Each night has got progressively worse and last night dh came home to find me in tears with the pain. Painkillers have no effect and just make me nauseaous, anything makes me nauseous..

I saw the out of hours gp who said it was a bowel spasm and gave me Buscopan. Pain is better this morning but still there iykwim.

I'm terrified that it will continue and can't bring myself to eat anything for fear of more pain, only managing sips of water atm too. Supposed to be at work today but have had to call in sick and I only started 3 weeks ago!

Does anybody have any advice or experience pls.....

Oh poor you. Is it related to anything you'vve eaten? Have you ever had it before?

I know it's easy for me to say but it really is made worse by stress because all the muscles inside tense up so do try to relax.

I hope the Buscopan helps and that you can find a painkiller that doesn't make you nauseous.

I ate a mild curry on sunday evening and felt a little ill, so I did at first put it down to that but that was sunday and the pain seems to be getting worse as each evening passes.

Never had anything like this before as I'm rarely ill apart from the odd cold and cough

I would suggest that, if the Buscopan doesnt substantially reduce the problem by tomorrow, that you go back to your GP and ask for more advice. There are many things that can cause abdominal pain - some more serious than others - so you can't afford to ignore it.

In the meantime, do drink plenty of fluids since dehydration won't help. You should also try small amounts of simple, easily digested foods e.g. scrambled eggs, dry toast, thin porridge, stewed fruit, steamed fish. A little nourishment - giving your guts something to do - can be beneficial.

But don't let it carry on if it's no better tomorrow. Get yourself checked out.

Sorry you're feeling so rotten.

I agree with Chil's advice, but I'd suggest that you spend the day in bed, with a hot water bottle on your tummy.

Eat the foods that Chil suggests, or if you think they're too much, go for banana, rice, toast and cooked apple - all things recommended for children with upset tummies and they won't do you any harm. Try to relax - certainly in my case, it's directly related to stress so if you can chill out (or better still, sleep), you'll feel much better soon.

sorry if asking for TMI - but have you been going for a poo regularly? Are you constipated at all? Colic pain can be very bad despite not being all that serious - but worth getting checked out?
